Udon Noodles for Japan New Year

Sanuki udon is eaten as a traditional New Year's food.
It is said that eating the white, tidy, fat, long noodles at the start of the year is a way to pray for a year of good fortune.

From January 1st until the 15th, the noodles are topped with red foods such as prawn tempura and umeboshi plums.
Udon served with fish broth helps to bring out the delicious taste of the wheat.
